The large Sanseido Bookstore Ikebukuro Main Store, which operates on a site of approximately 1,000 tsubo, will open its grand opening on December 6th at the Seibu Ikebukuro Main Store (Ikebukuro, Tokyo). In addition to about 800,000 books, it also handles about 30,000 miscellaneous goods.

The concept of the store is "To the Higher Stage-a bookstore with a slightly different view than it is now-". It is said that it aims to be a bookstore that combines a rich book space unique to a large bookstore with new elements such as miscellaneous goods and a cafe zone.

A recommendation corner "tanakanata (beyond the shelves)" is set up on all floors. 300-500 recommended books will be developed according to the theme that changes regularly.


In addition, we will propose a variety of miscellaneous goods along with books on each floor, including the children's book section "totoa" where you can play with toys and the miscellaneous goods shop "Jimbocho Ichinoichi".




In addition, there will be a cafe "Jimbocho Ichinoichi no Ofukuwa" where you can enjoy coffee surrounded by books and miscellaneous goods, and an event space for talk shows and workshops inviting writers.

The store is located on the 1st basement floor of the Seibu Ikebukuro Main Store Annex Building and the 1st to 4th basement floors of the Book Building, 1-28-1 Minamiikebukuro, Toshima-ku, Tokyo. Business hours are from 10:00 to 22:00.
