It is convenient to cook a lot at once and store it in a freezer. However, it is troublesome to prepare side dishes and rice when you are busy in the morning or when you want to fill your stomach a little.
In such a case, we recommend the frozen storage of "rice balls" that have been pre-filled with ingredients. You can eat other rice balls at any time just by heating them in the microwave! Below are some tips and suitable ingredients for freezing.
Do not hold with bare hands
Use freshly cooked warm rice. Freezing with steam can reduce the dryness when thawing. Also, unlike the usual rice balls that you eat immediately, when freezing, use a wrap or rice ball mold for hygiene. I can't add or remove salt by hand, so I basically mix the ingredients.
Take the rough heat from the rice balls you hold and put them in a freezer bag. By putting it in a bag, you can prevent freezing and burning, and you can keep it delicious for a longer time. If there is, put it on a metal tray or bat and freeze it more quickly.
Defrost in the microwave
When you eat it, it will be dry if it is thawed naturally, so heat it in the microwave like frozen rice. A guideline is about one and a half minutes for one rice ball (adjust according to the model you are using).Nori is easily damaged when it contains water, so it is better to wrap it just before eating. Also, the onigiri after thawing is easy to dry, so eat it immediately or wrap it tightly in plastic wrap if you carry it around.
