Cut while fresh
Garlic chives are easily damaged, so they should not be stored at room temperature. They also easily break even in the vegetable compartment, so it is best to cut them up while they are still fresh when you buy them.
Remove any damaged leaves beforehand, wash them with water, and cut them to a convenient length of about 3 to 4 cm.

Place in a storage container with a lid, pour in enough water to completely cover it, put the lid on, and store in the refrigerator. Change the water about every 3 days.



This method will keep them fresh for about a week to 10 days. Since they are pre-cut, you can use them as is in your cooking.
