The client of "Cliff House" is Emma and David, who live in Australia, and they asked Modscape to build a holiday home for them on their property on the southwest coast of Victoria, Australia. Modscape responded to their request by designing the "Cliff House," which is perched at the bottom of a cliff. The image of a "house perched on a cliff" was inspired by the barnacles that cling to boats.
Since the "Cliff House" is perched on the cliff, a hole is dug in the cliff face, and visitors can enjoy the feeling of living in the house. In order to emphasize the feeling of the hole in the wall, the number of furnishings in the rooms of the "Cliff House" is kept to a minimum. This is the result of prioritizing the view of the sea over convenience.

As you approach "Cliff House" by car, a parking space jumps out at you. At first glance, this parking space appears to be located on the edge of a cliff, but in fact it extends out to sea. This parking space is also the rooftop of the Cliff House.

From the parking space on the rooftop, stairs lead down to the fourth floor, where the living room, dining room, and kitchen are located. Further down the stairs to the third floor is the bedroom, and two floors below that is the bathroom. In the bedroom, you can sleep while looking at the ocean, and in the bathroom, you can take a bath while looking at the ocean. The bottom floor is a barbecue and spa area. You can invite your friends over to enjoy BBQ and a hot bath.

Staying in the "Cliff House" may seem scary, but the house itself is secured to the cliff by steel pins, so you will not fall down the cliff. What is rather scary is parking the car, isn't it? If the steering wheel is operated incorrectly, the car may fall headlong off the cliff. The fact that the fall can be seen through the wide windows of the "Cliff House" is also terrifying.
