Beavers are animals that gnaw down trees and create dams in rivers with the trees they fell. When they hear the sound of water, they have a habit of gnawing on trees.

This habit was noticed (?) by designer Rodrigo Torres. Torres collaborated with Italian houseware maker ALESSI to develop the BEAVER PENCIL SHARPENER. It is a beaver-shaped pencil sharpener with a habit of sharpening pencils when it hears the sound of a pencil (?). It is a beaver-shaped pencil sharpener.

The BEAVER PENCIL SHARPENER is a hand-cranked pencil sharpener that is sharpened by inserting a pencil into the beaver's mouth and turning it. It is equipped with a cutter made by STAEDTLER of Germany, allowing you to enjoy a sharp cutting edge.

The material is chrome plated Zamak. It can also be used as a paperweight as it weighs a fair amount.

It is sold through European mail order sites such as Amazon.co.uk and panik. In Japan, NOFF NORTICASA seems to have some stock (at the time of writing).
