■ Ranking of favorite shopping streets chosen by Tokyo residents
As a result of asking 360 Tokyo residents about their "favorite shopping streets," many shopping streets such as Kichijoji and Koenji, which are ranked high in the "popular towns," were selected.

By gender, more women than men answered that they liked Togoshi-Ginza Shopping Street. Conversely, Nakano Broadway's approval rating is higher for men than for women. Overall, the result was that men tended to prefer shopping streets with plenty of bars and entertainment facilities, and women tended to prefer shopping streets with side dishes and old-fashioned shops.
■ Why do you like the shopping street?
When asked about the reasons for choosing "favorite shopping street", the number one reason was "because it is lively" at 39.7%. This was followed by 37.2% "because there are many stores / enriched" and 35.0% "because the atmosphere of the town / station where the shopping street is located / because I like it".
■ Is "there is a shopping street" nearby the decisive factor in choosing a place to live?
When asked if the nearby shopping district would be the decisive factor in choosing a place to live, 38.1% answered that it would be the decisive factor, and 46.4% said that it would not be the decisive factor, but it should be emphasized. The results show that about 85% of people consider the shopping district to be an important factor in choosing a home.
The survey period is from January 19th to 20th, 2015. The subjects of the survey are men and women between the ages of 20 and 59 living in Tokyo, who answered that they "like the shopping street very much" in the preliminary survey and "purchase side dishes at least once a week". The number of valid responses was 360 samples.
