White wines, even sweet wines, are best drunk at a slightly chilled temperature of about 10 degrees Celsius. To keep wine at this temperature, a wine cooler filled with ice is usually used at home. However, a wine cooler can be a hassle, as it may overcool the wine or take time to cool it down.

Icecap" was developed for such hassle-free people. It is a wine chiller and aerator that instantly lowers the temperature of wine.

To use Icecap, place it in the freezer for about eight hours in advance to cool the refrigerant inside.

Once the wine is sufficiently chilled, the Icecap is placed on top of the wine glass and the wine is poured. The wine is then cooled as it passes through the coiled pipes surrounded by the refrigerant, bringing the temperature to about 10 degrees Celsius. The Icecap also allows the wine to air dry.

When the wine is cool enough, place the "Icecap" on top of the wine glass and pour the wine.

Now, this "Icecap". According to a comment written by a purchaser, the wine can only be chilled for the first two glasses. Also, the temperature that can be lowered is about -10 degrees Celsius below the original temperature. When the room temperature is 30 degrees Celsius, the temperature of wine stored at room temperature will only drop to about 20 degrees Celsius.

Those who store wine bottles in a room with a room temperature of 30 degrees may want to consider a different storage method, but it seems certain that not all purchasers will be satisfied with Icecap. Purchasing the product may require a certain amount of preparation.

Icecap" is sold through Quirky, a company that commercializes and sells ideas from the general public. The price is $34.99, but shipping to Japan will cost an additional $33.
