Two new models with improved battery performance will be released from iRobot's Roomba robot vacuum cleaner.
Two new models of iRobot's Roomba robot vacuum cleaners, the Roomba 885 and Roomba 875, with improved battery performance, will go on sale on June 3.

The new models to
be
released are further upgraded versions of the top-of-the-line Roomba 800 series. The iRobot Li-ion lithium-ion battery is newly installed instead of the conventional nickel-metal hydride battery, and it has achieved a longer service life of approximately six years, twice as long as the conventional battery.

As a special purchase offer, the company will provide the "Roomba 885/875 Value Plan" maintenance service free of charge (normally, a fee is charged). About 10 months after the purchase of the product, professional staff will inspect and clean the Roomba, update the software, and return it to the customer in a refreshed state.
Other
features
of the 800 Series include the AeroForce cleaning system, a powerful suction system, an automatic charging function, and a schedule function. The Roomba 885 also comes with "Room Navi" (optional accessory), which can guide Roomba to multiple consecutive rooms.

Both products measure 35.3 cm in diameter x 9.2 cm in height, weigh 3.8 kg, and have a maximum continuous operating time of 60 minutes. The iRobot official shopping site is selling the Roomba 885 for 84,000 yen and the Roomba 875 for 74,000 yen (both excluding tax). Pre-orders are currently being accepted on the site.
