Paint maker Turner Color has announced a new color "Ayanami Blue" to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the popular anime series "Evangelion". It will be developed in two lines, interior paint "J COLOR" and "acrylic gouache".


Ayanami Blue is a new blue color developed in the image of the popular character "Rei Ayanami" of the same work. The product concept is "a neutral color between" water blue "which means the warm blue of the mother sea and" frosty blue "which means the cold blue like ice."


J COLOUR is a quick-drying water-based interior paint. It can be painted on various indoor objects such as wallpaper, PVC cloth, wood, and concrete. The capacity is 500 ml and the price is 2,000 yen (excluding tax). After receiving the order, the craftsmen will produce one can at a time with a special color matching machine.

On the other hand, the acrylic gouache scheduled to be released in October will be available in three colors, "Ayanami Blue Pearl" and "Ayanami Blue Gel Medium", in addition to Ayanami Blue (details will be announced in the future).


Products can be purchased at the Ayanami Blue official website and the Evangelion official shop "EVANGELION STORE". J COLOR is currently accepting reservations and is scheduled to ship in early August. Each product comes with an original collaboration design card as a purchase privilege.
