When I change my clothes, I sometimes find clothes that I can't wear anymore, but I'm attached to them and can't throw them away. If I like the patterns and colors, I try to leave some of them as scrunchies.
However, it is quite troublesome to take out the sewing machine and sew it one by one. A convenient item I found there was Konishi's strong cloth adhesive, "Skillful Cutting".
This is a cloth bond that can be widely used for arranging clothes, handicrafts, etc., including raising and repairing trousers and skirts. According to the company, the strength of the adhesive surface is 1.5 times that of sewing with a sewing machine, and it is hard to peel off even with washing or dry cleaning.
When I tried to make a scrunchie using this skill, I would like to introduce it because it was extremely easy. I used a shirt that I no longer wear this time, but of course you can use any cloth you like.
【material】
・ Fabric (cotton is recommended)
・ Hair elastic (length enough to wrap around your wrist)
・ Good at cutting ・ Scissors, iron, ironing board, cloth
[How to make]
Cut the dough into rectangles of about 10 x 50 cm.
Place the dough on the ironing board with the back side facing up, fold the four sides inward by about 7 mm, and make a crease with an iron (glue). All the glue is inside, so the length is appropriate. However, if you fold it too much, the width of the scrunchie will become narrower.
Apply a good cutting technique to the crease on the long side and align it with the margin on the opposite side. The trick is to apply it gradually by about 10 cm. After sticking the long sides together to form a cylinder, apply a cloth to the adhesive surface and press it with an iron. By applying an iron, it seems that you can bond more strongly and quickly.
When the cloth has cooled, pass the hair elastic through it. It's easy to pass through with a hairpin or safety pin.
After threading, adjust the length of the rubber and tie it. Cut off excess rubber.
Finally close your mouth. Fold the margin on one end inside, and insert it with a good cutting hand on the other side. After pressing it with your hand and adhering it, press it with an iron to complete it.
You can adjust the volume to your liking by changing the width and length of the fabric. Good cutting skills can also be used for lace and rhinestones, so please try various designs of scrunchie!
