Speaking of cleaning, recently, "natural cleaning" using materials that are friendly to people and the environment has been attracting attention. It is a method to use oxygen bleach , sodium sesquicarbonate , baking soda, citric acid, etc., which were introduced in Enuchi before, according to the nature of the stain. I'm not very particular about nature, but I like it because I don't have to buy multiple detergents for each location and I can reduce pungent odors and rough hands.

However, the challenge this time is the "range hood" that I have avoided by pretending not to see it for a year. As expected, I was thinking about buying a strong detergent, but I was taught how to use "powdered soap", so I tried it.

◆ Make a thick "jelly soap"

I used "Bubbles Clothing for Liquid Destiny", a powdered soap of Bubbles Clothing for Liquid Destiny. Additive-free soap made from pure soap (99% sodium fatty acid). According to Mr. Hiroaki Maeda, a soap adviser for soap bubble soap, alkaline soap is effective against accumulated acidic oil stains. In addition, "jelly soap" that stays in close contact with dirt is recommended.


To make jelly soap, first dissolve 20 to 50 g of powdered soap in 500 ml of lukewarm water at 30 to 50 degrees Celsius. Leave it as it is at room temperature for about 3 hours. It hardens like jelly, so mix it by hand to eliminate the lumps and you're done. If you don't want to make it on the day, you can make it a little when you take a bath the night before.

The ventilation fan at my house seems to have some oil and dust attached to this metal filter, so it's so sticky that I hesitate to hold it with my bare hands. And there is plenty of oil in the food cover.

Regain your mind and smear the jelly soap on the oil stains. Leave it for 10 to 20 minutes, then rinse with water or wipe off.



◆ It's really tough!

If you look at the filter, you can see that the soap melts the oil firmly and is entwined, but as expected it is just a ganko, and it gets stuck in the hole of the filter and can not be washed away with water alone. I rubbed it with a scrubbing brush and washed it lightly with dish detergent. I regret that I should have wiped it off with a cloth that I didn't need first. But I am satisfied because it is finished like new.



For the hood cover, I rubbed it lightly with a used toothbrush and then rinsed it. Then, just flush it with water to make it shiny! After this, I cleaned the fan and was able to use up the jelly soap. In addition, it seems to be effective around the gas range and the filter of the air conditioner (especially the air conditioner in the living room where oil stains easily).



Of course, kitchen detergent for oil stains can also remove stains, but powdered soap has a good cost performance and can be used for everyday cleaning and washing. Above all, I worked with my bare hands this time, but I'm happy that my hands don't get rough (gloves if you're worried because there are individual differences) and no odor remains in the kitchen.

Oil stains will increase in strength as they are left unattended. I tell you every time with cleaning material, but I do not say that it is a general cleaning once a year, but I want to do it diligently when I notice it.
