On the other hand, Coloriage is a coloring book for adults that uses detailed patterns. There is no correct answer and you can paint it freely, so it seems difficult. I was worried, but I couldn't get started because I was worried about whether it would continue.

◆ Experience the "Coloriage Flower Parade" filled with girls' "likes"

This time, I visited a workshop using the "Coloriage Flower Parade" drawn by popular illustrator Mayuko Sase. Under the guidance of the author, Mr. Sase, you can try some of the books for free. It's exciting to see professionals!


The event space in the Shinjuku Housing Exhibition Hall in Tokyo, which was the venue, is full of "adult women". Choose the one you like from the several copies of the book you received and work on it.


By the way, it seems that "fine things" with a pattern are recommended for beginners. For designs with a wide surface to be painted, it seems better to decide the overall image color first. I also chose a picture I liked and started!


◆ Technique to paint "flowers" beautifully

Here, I would like to introduce Mr. Sase's technique for painting "flowers", which is often used in the motif of coloriage (I use blue at the request of the author to make it chic).

First, lightly paint the entire petal with light blue, and then paint each petal with a similar color. It is easy to understand even for beginners, and the finish is more gorgeous than painting with one color.


Next, I was asked to show the trick of painting the whole lightly with gray, and then painting the roots of the petals and the overlapping shadows with light blue or blue. By expressing shadows with similar colors, a three-dimensional effect is created even with a large pattern.




Even if the same color is applied, different paintings will give a different impression, so even if the number of colors is small, various expressions can be made. You may want to start with your own colored pencils and eventually buy a set of dozens of colors.

◆ Too much concentration and forget time

After that, the author continued to apply it for about an hour until he was told, "It's about 10 minutes left." It seems that he was demonstrating his concentration many times as much as he was at work (sorry).


Other participants said that they were "fun" and "relaxed" one after another, and everyone seemed to be enjoying the charm of Coloriage. I'm really absorbed in it, so it may be ant to decide the time such as "1 hour after meal" and "15 minutes before going to bed".

◆ The more you apply, the more fun it becomes!


“If you want to be elaborate, you can get as much as you want with an adult coloring book. As you get used to it, you can see your favorite colors and your own personality,” says Sase. I used colored pencils this time, but I heard that watercolor pencils and oil-based pencils are also recommended. Especially with watercolor pencils, it seems that you can paint the "kiwa" parts that are difficult to paint with colored pencils. Some people use lame manicure!

By the way, it is also recommended to write a message in the margin and use it as a card for the completed picture. It seems that family and friends will be pleased with the one and only work in the world.
