Occasionally there are rooms that do not have a bathtub and only have a shower. Especially, it is often seen overseas. How can a person living in such a room soak their shoulders in hot water and relax?

One of the answers is "XTEND". It's a bathtub that can be stored in a pettanko style.

"XTEND" is a structure that combines a bellows type frame and a cloth to store hot water. Unfold the skeleton and pour hot water into the cloth to take a bath. It is not a small shower room, but can be installed in the entire apartment room, so you can enjoy a relaxing bath time. There is also a curan used to store hot water and a drain.

The thickness when folded is only 8.5 mm. When not needed, it can be stored in a gap in furniture.

The skeleton is made of carbon fiber, so it is lightweight. It weighs 7 kg and can be carried by women.

Unfortunately, XTEND is still in the prototype stage. The commercialization is undecided. However, even if it is commercialized, there may not be much demand in Japan. There are rooms with only showers in Japan, but even people living in such rooms can enjoy a large bath relatively easily at a super public bath. This may be a little different from the people who live in old European apartments.
