Asahi Kasei Home Products has released a special pen "Saran Wrap Pen" that allows you to write illustrations and messages on "Saran Wrap". From today (July 5th), it is pre-sold on some EC sites and stores including Amazon.co.jp.


To use it, just write it directly on a plate or Saran wrap wrapped with ingredients and let it dry for about 40 seconds. The handwriting has an image similar to "POSCA", and the characters and illustrations can be clearly seen without seeing through the ink.



The trick to writing beautifully is to pinch the Saran wrap. When wrapping ingredients, wrap them so that there are no wrinkles on the writing surface. It may be an ant to spread the wrap on a cutting board and write the illustration first.





When it dries completely, the ink will settle firmly and will not come off even if you put it in the refrigerator or touch it with wet hands. You can also heat it in the microwave.


When I first saw it, I thought it was an oil-based pen, but this is actually a water-based ink. It is said that ink that does not have a pungent odor and is harmless to the body should be used.

Some people make dexterous illustrations and messages with ingredients, but there are days when they don't have the time or materials (I'm clumsy, so I'm not good at it in the first place). In such a case, you can have a fun lunch time just by putting a piece in the lunch box and writing a message. It can also be used as a date memo when storing ingredients or as a normal pen.

There are 6-color set and 3-color set for the pen, and the suggested retail price is 980 yen for the 6-color set and 540 yen for the 3-color set (both tax excluded). As a new communication tool, it may be convenient to have one set. The nationwide release is scheduled for August 20th.
