The Rio Olympics have finally begun. Many of you may be watching the Japanese athletes late at night because of the time difference between Japan and the rest of the world.
On mornings when the excitement is so great that the whole family is short of sleep, how about secretly preparing a surprise bento? This time, we tried Zubora Okan-san's interesting idea for a hinomaru bento, which was introduced on the recipe site "Cookpad.
As usual, I was looking forward to lunch time. When I opened the lid, I found a simple Hinomaru bento.... Even if it is the day after winning a medal, it is a little sad, isn't it?

In fact, this is just a side dish covered with rice. By covering the top and bottom of the side dish with rice, it makes it easier to eat the minced meat and other ingredients.

When I handed this bento to my family, they responded as I had expected, "Where's the side dish? and they reacted just as I had expected. It was a humorous bento that I can forgive now. It was a lunch box full of humor.
