A summer floor that is sticky with sweat and dust. Even though I want to wipe the beans with water, I can do it with a hot and wet type flooring wiper. However, it seems that about 1 kg of force is applied when a person rags, so the finish is completely different just by sliding the wiper a little.

So, I used the floor-wiping robot "Brava Jet 240" released by iRobot on August 26th. Compared to the already sold "Brava", it is smaller and powerfully wipes the floor. How reliable is it?

Small and easy to carry

The size of the main body is W178 x D170 x H84 mm. It weighs 1.2 kg and can be easily moved by holding the handle. It is easy to understand with only one button and can be operated using a dedicated app.

Automatic recognition when a pad is attached

There are 3 types of dedicated cleaning pads included. When attached to the main body, the cleaning mode is automatically identified. Two of these are water-wiping types, so pour water into the tank of the main unit and you're ready to go. Press the CLEAN button to start cleaning.



The "wet mop pad", which is thoroughly wiped with water and detergent, is recommended around kitchens and dining tables. By carefully wiping the same place three times while spraying water, it will also clean up the dirt of the seasoning that has stuck. At first glance, it seems that it is just passing through, but if you look closely, you can see that the pad vibrates finely from side to side and is applying force firmly.



From the app, ^{you can also specify a "spot mode" that cleans a very narrow area about 1 m 2} in front, so if you have a kitchen of a general size, it is enough to do this twice.


In places such as the living room and corridors that do not require such careful wiping, the "Dump Sweep Pad" is used to wipe twice with less water and detergent. You can feel the refreshing feeling by walking barefoot on the floor after finishing. By the way, in the water wiping mode, long hair may not be completely removed and may remain, so vacuum it in advance before running.


The other type is a pad for wiping empty. It is perfect for daily cleaning as it entangles dust, dirt, and pet hair.

It ’s more polite than doing it yourself.

A Braava jet that goes under furniture and even in narrow gaps while rotating a compact body. It's a hassle to move furniture, and it doesn't fool you where you overlook it.




Also, once you touch it and remember the shape of the room and the position of the furniture, it is amazing that you will never hit it again. It's artificial intelligence that maps rooms accurately, and you'll be impressed with the wisdom of not repeating the same mistakes.

The sound during cleaning is almost unnoticeable, but at the start of operation, there are frequent sounds of bumping and reading data, so it seems better to avoid doing it in the middle of the night at an apartment.

Easy to clean

You can remove the used pad with one touch without touching it directly. Pads that can be washed and used repeatedly are also on sale, so use them according to your preference.



Also, since there is no charging stand like "Roomba", it will return to the initial position and the power will be turned off automatically after the end. Is it the power of design that makes you look cute when you are about to run out of charge and return to the first place in a hurry?
