The sixth store of the cat cafe "MoCHA", "Harajuku Takeshita-dori", opened on December 12th. It sings "a cat cafe with a mysterious view of the world".


"MoCHA" is a cat cafe that pays particular attention to "smell" and "hygiene". We are particular about the "interior", and it is a store that even beginners can enjoy.


About 20 cats are enrolled to satisfy cat lovers. It seems that there is no such thing as "cats just sleep and don't play" or "there are few cats and can't touch each other".


"Rice time," which is also a specialty of "MoCHA," is also held at the Harajuku Takeshita-dori store. You can enjoy it twice a day from 10:30 and 19:30 every day.


The usage fee is 200 yen for 10 minutes. There is also an all-you-can-drink drink bar (350 yen) and a cat snack (500 yen).

"MoCHA" is open on the second floor and above, where restaurants are said to struggle. For example, the Ikebukuro West Exit store is located on the 3rd floor, the Akihabara store is located on the 2nd floor, and the Shibuya store is located on the 8th floor.


However, for cat lovers, going upstairs to meet cats shouldn't be a pain. On the other hand, the "MoCHA" side has the advantage of being able to concentrate funds on interior decoration, etc. by operating on the second floor and above, where rents are considered to be low. Operating a cat cafe on the second floor or above seems to be a win-win management strategy that has merits for both the store side and the cat lovers side.


It's only one year and 10 months since "MoCHA" opened the Ikebukuro West Exit store in February 2015 until the opening of the sixth Harajuku Takeshita-dori store. I would like to pay attention to whether the rapid advance at this pace will continue in the future.
