In 2016, the recent “cat boom” accelerated further. Mitsuaki Iwago, an animal photographer who can be said to be the driving force behind this, is holding photo exhibitions of cats all over the country during the year-end and New Year holidays. Below is a summary of the schedule for each exhibition.

■ "Walking around the world of Mitsuaki Iwago"


A photo exhibition of the popular NHK BS Premium program "Mitsuaki Iwago's World Cat Walk". Exhibits photographic works and unreleased videos of cats that have met in 15 regions around the world, including Europe, Africa, the United States, and Asia.

■ "Hometown cat"


An exhibition of kittens and people's lives taken by Mr. Iwago in the Tsugaru region of Aomori prefecture over a year.

■ "Cat walking"


The exhibition focuses on photographs of the countries Iwago visited in recent years and Japanese cats.

■ "Cat"


An exhibition that brings together cats who have been shooting both in Japan and abroad in the life of a photographer for more than 40 years.

■ Mini Photo Exhibition "Neko no Tokei"


A mini photo exhibition consisting of about 50 pieces that you can enjoy a free-spirited "cat's day".

The "Weekly Asahi" (January 20, 2017 issue) released on January 10, 2017 will come with a "calendar of dogs and cats" taken by Mitsuaki Iwago. We look forward to seeing many fascinating works next year!
