Keep your washstand dry and comfortable at all times. We found a toothbrush stand made of diatomaceous earth material at Nitori, and would like to introduce it to you.
Diatomaceous earth is the fossilized and accumulated shells of phytoplankton and algae. It has microscopic holes on its surface and has excellent moisture absorption and desorption properties, so it is also utilized for bath mats and coasters.
Nitori offers three types: "Diatomaceous Earth Toothbrush Stand" (370 yen) for one brush, "Diatomaceous Earth Toothbrush Stand Square" (1,102 yen) and "Diatomaceous Earth Toothbrush Stand Round" (740 yen) that can hold four brushes. All of them have a smooth white diatomaceous earth surface.
The stand for one toothbrush is moderately weighted so that the toothbrush can stand stably without falling over (the toothbrush in the image is 18 cm in length). It is available in white, gray, and turquoise, so you can color-code it for your family.
The four-brush stand comes with a stainless steel cover. Both of these products change color darkly when wet, but the surface dries quickly and feels silky to the touch. They don't seep out to the other side and will keep the washstand dry at all times.
The surface can be washed with water if it gets dirty; you need to be careful not to soak it in water for a long time or drop it and break it, but why not incorporate it into your new life? All prices are tax-excluded.
