Diatomaceous earth products that dry quickly! Review of Nitori's "Diatomaceous Earth Bath Mat.
Diatomaceous earth is the fossilized and accumulated shell of diatoms (phytoplankton, algae, etc.). It has microscopic holes on its surface and has excellent moisture absorption and desorption properties, so it is used for coasters and bath mats that need to stay dry.
Nitori's diatomaceous earth bath mats come in three sizes, large, medium, and small. Each is available in three colors: ivory, turquoise blue, and rose. All are plain.
This time I bought the smallest one, ivory, measuring 29cm x 39cm, a miniature size about the width of a scale, and priced at 925 yen (tax not included). Even though it is small, I am happy to see that it costs less than 1,000 yen!
As those who have used diatomaceous earth coasters and the like know, they are overwhelmingly absorbent and quick-drying. It absorbs and dries the water that drips down from your body after taking a bath in no time.
However, this size (20cm x 29cm) may be too small.... Water droplets fell outside the mat. Choose the size carefully.
When it gets dirty or loses its water absorbency, polish it with the included "sandpaper for cleaning" to clean it.
Diatomaceous earth bath mats are made of a hard material, so placing them directly on the floor may damage the floor. It is safer to place a thin towel or a non-slip sheet underneath.

Diatomaceous earth bath mats dry quickly and are hygienic. It is also nice that you don't have to dry and wash it like you do with cloth ones. If you are not satisfied with your current bath mat, why don't you consider using a diatomaceous earth bath mat?
