In the summer when you miss the sweet and sour taste, KALDI is holding a fair with a large selection of lemon products. I was curious about one of the target products, "Lemon Marmalade", so I tried it!
The product name is "Frutta Celestina Lemon Marmalade". The country of origin is Italy, and the only ingredients are lemon, orange, and sugar. It was 210g (7.41oz) and the price was 398 yen (tax included).
Marmalade made with a ratio of about 7 lemons: 3 oranges. Contains plenty of coarsely chopped pericarp. The ones about 2 cm square are also rough.
The sweetness is quite modest for jam, and the lemon flavor is the main character. It has a refreshing taste with no sharp acidity. While enjoying the chewy texture of the pericarp, the bitterness gradually begins.
If you want to spread it on bread, it is recommended to use it with butter or cream cheese. It's not so sweet, so it doesn't quarrel with the flavor of olive oil.
