"Oxi-pickled" is a method of washing clothes and tableware in hot water in which the oxygen-based bleach "OxiClean" is dissolved. It is a cleaning and washing method that is often talked about on the Internet as "cleaning stubborn stains" and "whitening shirts".


I was also interested in it, but at home I had a lot of used baking soda, citric acid, and sodium sesquicarbonate. I couldn't try it because I was worried that I could use up even if I bought more OxiClean.

However, the other day, I found " Oxywash ", which is also an oxygen bleach, at the 100-yen shop Can Do. In addition to the easy-to-use capacity, there is also a convenient subdivision type, so I bought it.



Oxywash is an oxygen-based bleaching agent that adds detergency such as carbonates and surfactants to sodium percarbonate. It can be used in various objects and places such as clothing, curtains, carpets, tableware, bathrooms, and entrance tiles.

The basic usage is the same as other oxygen bleach. All you have to do is "dissolve in hot water at 40-60 degrees Celsius and then soak in dirt." The standard usage is 30g (1.06oz) for 4 liters of hot water. After soaking, wash, wash with water, and wipe with water to complete. Rubber gloves must be worn when using to prevent rough hands.


The author tried oxy-pickling a child's shirt with a yellow collar due to spilled food and a tile at the entrance with black joints. The shirt didn't turn white, but the dirt was much thinner and it gave a beautiful impression. The tile joints are closer to the original white color, and the entrance is brighter. It's very easy to pickle in oxy, but be careful that fine particles may fly up into the air when you sprinkle it in hot water. It is safe to work in a sink or bathroom, not in a place where there is food or children nearby.

Also, make sure that the material can be used with Oxywash in the first place. Wool products, silk products, leather products, metal accessories, etc. cannot be used. I want to confirm the use of detergents, not just oxygen-based bleach, each time so that I don't mean "I'm going to clean it, but it's damaged ...".
