Home appliances have evolved greatly over the past 60 years or so. Televisions, for example, differ greatly in appearance and video display methods between products from the 1950s and those of today.

Among these, microwave ovens are said to have remained basically unchanged from their first appearance to the present. In particular, its appearance has evolved surprisingly little. So slow has it evolved that some people have even suggested that microwave ovens are actually a gift from aliens. Some people even say that microwave ovens are a gift from aliens.

Earthlings know how to use microwave ovens, but they don't understand how they work. So, there is no way to evolve them."

This is the argument of those who advocate the "alien theory.

One man who may revolutionize the microwave oven is Kingston University graduate Jake Rich, who has developed the "Mediumwave," a pod-shaped microwave oven on wheels.

The "Mediumwave" looks like a small hot plate. It has a translucent lid attached to it. This lid not only serves to block microwaves, but also to show the user how the food is being cooked.

The biggest difference between a regular microwave oven and "Mediumwave" is that it is portable. It can be placed on a table and used similar to a tabletop cassette stove.

For example, when soup gets a little cold, it can be easily heated on the table.

Children will be delighted when they make popcorn on the table.

The shape of the "Mediumwave" also makes it easy to clean. Current microwave ovens are difficult to clean when dirty. But with "Mediumwave," dirt can be easily wiped off.

Unfortunately, "Mediumwave" is still in the design concept stage. There are no plans to commercialize it at this time.
