A clock is a device that tells time to us in an inorganic way, through numbers. In truth, however, time is a very personal thing. Depending on the situation and our feelings at the time, time can feel long or instantaneous.

German designer Meike Harde has created "Time is Dancing," a ballerina's pose that tells the time. This clock expresses that the length of time differs from person to person.

The ballerina, attached to the "Time is Dancing" as the long and short hands, has to hold a pose for a certain period of time that is very difficult to balance, depending on the time of day. During this time, the ballerina must maintain a high level of concentration, and the time it takes to experience the pose will be much longer than usual. After a while, however, the pose becomes easier. The ballerina's experience will be shorter.

Time is Dancing" is a device that attempts to convey the ballerina's experience of time in her poses.

Ms. Harde describes the concept of "Time is Dancing" as follows.

Time is Dancing" is a clock that expresses the time in a ballerina's pose. But that's not all. The watch reflects the fragility of everything that moves from moment to moment, and how it can collapse at any moment. If people continue to use this clock, they will no longer think of time as a mere combination of numbers."
