The new "Genie Smart Lock" is the latest addition to the smart lock lineup. This new product solves the problem of "smart locks are convenient, but their batteries run out quickly.

Normally, the battery life of a smart lock is about one month. If the battery runs out, the user may be locked out in the worst case scenario. The Genie Smart Lock, however, has a battery life of about 12 months, meaning it can be used for a year without recharging. With this battery life, it is unlikely that you will be troubled by a dead battery.
Even so, there may be times when you forget to recharge the battery and get locked out. In such a case, the door can be opened using a conventional key.

Smart locks are also useful for households with pets. When a family goes on vacation, for example, they may feel uneasy about leaving the key with a pet sitter. But with Smart Lock, you can call the pet sitter to let them know when they arrive at the front of the room, and then unlock the door using your smartphone while you are on the road.
This product is also recommended for nervous people who are on the road and are concerned about whether or not they have locked their house. By launching the smartphone app, you can check from anywhere to see if the door is locked, and if it is not, you can lock the door on the spot.

To install the Genie Smart Lock on a door, the current doorknob must be removed and replaced with the Genie Smart Lock Bluetooth eKey. The door hole is a standard 54 mm, so it can be installed on most doors.

The Genie Smart Lock is available for pre-order now. The price is $249. This includes two conventional keys, one Bluetooth FOB, and two sets of Bluetooth eKeys.
