The classic science fiction movie "Back to the Future" will celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2015. The unprecedented but dependable Doc taught me for the first time what it means to be an "adult".

The future depicted in the second film of the series is just in 2015. Unfortunately, neither the flying car nor the "hoverboard" have been commercialized yet, but Hot Toys Japan will release a 1/6 scale model of the car-shaped time machine "DeLorean" in April 2016. It will be priced at 72,000 yen (tax included, same below).


The company has been developing "Movie Masterpiece" and other products that sculpt characters mainly from Hollywood movies as realistic 1/6 scale figures, and this DeLorean will also be from the same series.

The figure measures approximately 72 cm in length, 35 cm in width, and 21 cm in height, and its body has been painted using industry-leading technology to reproduce the unique metallic look of a car that has been machined.


The interior is also said to be elaborately detailed, with a time circuit and switches located in the center of the dashboard, and a dimensional transfer device in the center of the rear seat. The built-in LED light-up function allows the driver to enjoy the same effects as in the movie.



In addition, the 1/6 scale figure "Marty McFly" (24,000 yen, currently accepting reservations), scheduled for release in May 2015, can be used as a passenger. This figure is also quite powerful, standing approximately 28 cm tall. I would love to recreate various scenes from the movie and enjoy it to my heart's content.



The item may sell out early due to its limited production, and the company recommends pre-ordering at Toy Sapiens and other directly-managed stores. Toy Sapiens is currently accepting reservations at a special price.
