The general discount store Don Quijote will open a new store "Platinum Don Quijote Shirokanedai Store" (Minato-ku, Tokyo) at 10:00 a.m. on May 29, 2012 in a prime location in the central Tokyo area.


The store will open in Shirokanedai, one of Tokyo's most prestigious residential areas, as an experimental store based on the theme of "mixing affordability, luxury, and obscenity. The store will offer a wide range of products, narrowing down its product lineup to categories such as food, household goods, and daily consumables that are indispensable to daily life, with the aim of enhancing the sense of affordability and quality that only Don Quijote can offer.

The food corner, in particular, will carry meat and produce directly managed by Don Quijote, and Asahiya, a Matsusaka meat specialty store in Mie Prefecture, will be the first tenant store in Japan. The store will also sell prepared foods and boxed lunches prepared in the store, as well as low-sugar bran bread.

The store will have a relaxing atmosphere with a white and gold color scheme, befitting its "platinum" name. The uniforms have been redesigned, while retaining the convenient Don Quijote element of being open 24 hours a day.

The store is located at 3-15-5 Shirokanedai, Minato-ku, Tokyo, and is open 24 hours a day.
