The "Shed Festival," which will feature shed exhibitions and workshops with the theme of "living in a shed," will be held for nine days from July 25 to August 2 in Chino City, Nagano Prefecture. The event is organized by SuMiKa.


There will be 20 huts on display. Unique huts will be gathered from construction companies around the country, including " INSPIRATION ," a small house themed on "traveling around the world," "AzitO," a hut that aims to be as easy and comfortable as a plastic model, and "DRESSLODGE," a "destructible hut." If you find a hut you like, you can discuss building it with the exhibitor on the spot.


During the event, a live hut building workshop (advance registration required) will also be held. One hut will be built per day on the site using locally thinned green wood and old tin. Other plans include a hammock-making experience.

In addition, 20 stores will be set up at the market inside the venue, selling fresh vegetables and food unique to Nagano, as well as miscellaneous goods and furniture. There will also be live music on the stage on weekends.


The event venue is around the Togariishi ruins in Toyohira, Chino City, Nagano Prefecture. The event will be held from 10:30 to 17:30. Admission is free. For details on exhibitors, please refer to the official website.
