Spring Japanese sweet "Sakura Mochi" has become ice cream! At each KALDI Coffee Farm store, a new product "Sakura Mochi Ice Cream" will be released sequentially from the end of February (excluding some stores). I found it at a store in Tokyo, so I tried it right away!
KALDI's Sakura Mochi Ice Cream
This product is made by wrapping ice cream with cherry leaves and red bean paste in mochi dough, and imagining the taste of "sakura mochi". The price is 162 yen (tax included) per piece.
The thin mochi dough has a moderately chewy texture. It entangles with ice cream in your mouth and melts.
The ice cream has a "sweet and salty" taste with a soft cherry blossom flavor and saltiness. The smooth sweetness of the bean paste is a nice accent.
Due to the milky texture of the ice cream, it is a little Western-style instead of sakura mochi. The rich taste is irresistible!
A perfect dish for spring tea time. If you like sakura mochi, please give it a try!
