"Hot water bottle" that keeps moderate warmth just by adding hot water. As an old-fashioned eco-friendly heating goods, many people can't let go of it every winter.
I also have a hot water bottle that I have been using since I was a child, but I was worried that it would take a lot of time and effort to prepare because of its large capacity.
So this year, I focused on a mini hot water bottle with a capacity of 1L or less . Is it possible to keep warm even with a hot water bottle that can be easily held with one hand? I compared Daiso and MUJI products.
Daiso's "warm hot water bottle" has a capacity of 420 ml and a weight of 130 g. The price is 216 yen (tax included, same below). The main body material is polyethylene, and the "SG mark" that compensates for safety is also firmly attached. By the way, you can also buy a special cover at the same store.
Although it has a handle and is easy to carry, you need to be careful when pouring hot water due to the narrow spout. Be especially careful as hot water may suddenly pop out of the kettle!
On the other hand, MUJI's "hot water bottle / small" has a capacity of 630 ml and a weight of 170 g. The price is 890 yen. The point is the uncolored body, which makes it easy to understand the amount of hot water.
One unfortunate point is that the small size does not come with a handle (medium and large do). When I put hot water in it, it was so hot that I couldn't hold it for a long time.
By the way, the special cover is 990 yen, which is more expensive than the main body. However, it is made and thick, and the texture of Mofumofu is comfortable, so I definitely want to get it.
What is the heating effect?
Both of them gave me a comfortable warmth when covered, which was enough to warm the inside of the duvet before going to bed. The warmth did not last until the next morning, but MUJI has a longer heat retention time due to its larger capacity. As the number of hot water bottle users increases, so does the number of low-temperature burn accidents, so don't worry because you have a cover on it, and don't forget to take it out of your futon before going to bed.
A mini hot water bottle that can be prepared immediately with an electric kettle and is easy to throw away water. If you don't have it yet, why not start with a reasonable size?
