IKEA food cover "Ovelmet"
Covers plates and used vegetables perfectly

A food wrap that is convenient and often used to store used foods and leftover food. However, with the worldwide demand for reduction of plastic waste, many people may want to reduce the frequency of use as much as possible.

I would like to introduce you to the food cover "Ovelmet" that I found at IKEA. It is made of silicone rubber that can be washed and used repeatedly. It comes in 3 sizes, and the regular price is 499 yen including tax (IKEA Family member price is 399 yen).

A cute form with a squeezed mouth that looks like a dullness. It stretches well when pulled, so use it by covering the mouth of a bottle or glass container, or the cross section of cut fruits, vegetables, etc.

6.2 cm in diameter for glasses, lemons and oranges. If the size is right, the liquid will not leak even if it is turned upside down.

The diameter of 9.5 cm is suitable for elongated vegetables such as cucumber and zucchini. Since the cover is narrow, you can cover it unexpectedly even if the diameter does not match exactly.

The heat-resistant temperature is set to 100 degrees, and you can use the dishwasher, but you cannot use the microwave oven. Please be careful not to warm it while it is on.

On the maintenance side, the inside of the cover is hard to dry, so it's a good idea to turn it over after washing. Also, when I actually used it, the sizes that were often used were biased, so I had the impression that it would be nice if I could choose a size and buy more. You can definitely reduce the frequency of use of plastic wrap, so it's a must-have item when you go to IKEA.
