If I want to brew delicious coffee from beans, I also want to be particular about the tools I use. Kai House, a premium kitchenware line from Kaijirushi, will release "The Coffee Mill," a coffee mill that will satisfy this desire, sequentially from October 20.

The Coffee Mill is a product jointly developed by Kaijirushi and Yoshiaki Kawashima, a representative of Micafate and a well-known "coffee hunter. According to Mr. Kawashima, the key to the best tasting coffee is to reduce the amount of "fines," which are the source of coffee's unpleasant taste, when dripping.
Since fines are produced when coffee beans are ground, this product employs the "Fix Grind Mechanism," a new technology that is the first of its kind in the industry, to prevent the production of fines and to even out the grains after grinding. While most mills usually fix only one side of the grinder, this product fixes both sides of the grinder to eliminate blurring and ensure stable grinding of the beans.

From October 20, the premium series coated by a lacquer craftsman will be available in advance. Available in two colors, "Makie" and "Piano Black," it will be available at Kaijirushi's Web store and at "Micafeat" coffee shops nationwide. The price is 10,000 yen (tax not included).

The Standard Series is also scheduled to go on sale in December. It will be available only in "matte black" and can be purchased at Kaijirushi's Web shop, specialty stores, and department stores nationwide. The price is 4,000 yen (tax not included).
