Garlands are popular for camping tents and tarps, as well as for events and indoor decorations. There are many different types available today, and it is exciting just to look at them.

But the season is autumn. Why not make your own garland using the leaves that are falling around your feet? Drew Scott, who lives in the U.S., introduces a very simple and sophisticated idea on his blog "IMDREWSCOTT.

First, collect leaves from outside, wash them with water and dry them well. They should be of various sizes and shapes.

Then paint both sides of the leaves with white paint as a base, and when dry, paint the back side with a single color.

For the other side, mask off the leaf using masking tape or other means, and paint it with the color of your choice. Do not press the tape too hard, as the underlying paint will peel off!

Color and width are optional.

When completely dry, remove the masking and hang them side by side on a string or thread of your choice. Even if the paint peels off a little to reveal the leaves, it looks nice and natural. It will look great on a white wall in a room, entryway, or bathroom.
