Domestic manufacturers' food wraps have the best blade sharpness and adhesive strength. It has always been improved to reflect the voice of the user, and I am impressed that it is a consumable item, but it is amazing.
But there should be rap in countries other than Japan. What kind of comfort is it? This time, I tried two popular products from the membership supermarket "Costco".
Original wrap with cutter
Costco's private brand product "Kirkland Signature Stretch Tight Food Wrap" contains two wraps with a width of about 30 x a length of about 231 m, and has a considerable cost performance of 1,378 yen (tax included, the same applies below).
It comes with a metal blade in advance, but holding the box with one hand can be a pain, so we recommend replacing it with the included slide cutter. To install, just peel off the original blade and cover it.
Since the wrap is originally thin, this slide cutter cuts well. With both left and right blades, there is no stress, and it becomes fun to cut off. By the way, although it is comfortable to use as a wrap, the heat resistant temperature is as low as 82 degrees (cold resistant temperature is -51 degrees). It seems better to avoid heating in the microwave.
Surprising adhesive strength "Presnseal"
"Glad Presnseal" is a wrap with "food adhesive" applied to the entire surface of the film. The adhesion that sticks to tableware and food is so strong that the liquid inside does not spill. It is safe to put a lid on the glasses for small children and parties.
It is also possible to delay oxidation by wrapping foods such as fish fillets and vegetables. Since the heat resistant temperature is also low here, it is safe to avoid heating in the microwave.
By the way, it can be re-pasted repeatedly, so some people put it on their smartphones for remote control and simple waterproofing, which are easy to get dirty. The Presnseal, which can be used outside the kitchen, is 30 cm wide and 43.4 m long. The price is 1,638 yen for 3 bottles.
Both are different in usability from general wraps, so it seems good to first try using one and decide whether it is necessary or not. Why not share it with your friends when you go to Costco?
