The 100-yen store Daiso has an item that solves this "bag problem" at a very low price.

This is a "handy sealer" for home use that uses heat to weld the mouth of a bag. I have known of the existence of these sealers for a long time, but the price was too high for me to buy one. But now I can buy one at a 100-yen store! I immediately decided to try it out on some snacks I was about to eat.

According to the instruction manual, the materials that can be welded are aluminum vapor deposited bags, polypropylene, polyethylene, and polyvinyl chloride. It can be used for bags up to 0.1 mm thick. The main unit does not come with batteries, so first set two AA batteries.

When using the product, simply remove the safety cover and pinch it so that the white part touches the place where you want to fasten it. Wait a few seconds and it will become slightly warm, then slowly slide it to the side while watching the peep hole and guide line on the tip.

Look at the mouth of the bag...oh my...it fits perfectly! It is perfectly attached! It doesn't peel off at all even if you pull it lightly. In fact, I have the impression that it is closed tighter than it was at first.

It's kind of fun, like a craft, so let's keep on closing it.

I wish there was an on/off switch on the unit, but I'm quite happy with the cosmetics. It's too easy and makes me want to close every open one. It's good to have one for moisture control and to prevent overeating.
The price is, of course, 108 yen.
