Jesse Leeworthy has developed an A4 file-sized water bottle called "memobottle" and started selling it on kickstarter on August 29. The price is 32 Australian dollars (about 3,136 yen). Shipping to Japan will cost an additional 7 Australian dollars (about 686 yen).


A4 file size is the most common size for notebook PCs. This is because a typical business bag is designed to hold an A4 file without bending. A4 file size should also be the perfect size for a water bottle to be carried in a business bag. But until now, water bottles have remained in a cylindrical shape, even those that claim to be "usable in business situations.


The "memobottle" is a water bottle that can be stored in a business bag along with an A4-size notebook PC. Unlike conventional cylindrical water bottles, it does not bulge out of the bag. Its slim size makes it easy to store in a bag. The water bottle is leak-proof, so even if it is stored next to a notebook PC, the PC will not get water on it. It is also dishwasher-safe.




Leeworthy says that more than 50 billion beverages in plastic bottles were sold worldwide last year. Leeworthy hopes to reduce the number of single-use plastic bottles that are discarded.



In addition to A4, A5 and letter sizes are also available. The A4 and letter sizes have a capacity of 1.25 liters, and the A5 has a capacity of 0.75 liters. If you order now, you will receive them around December 2014.
