Kärcher Japan will release stick-type household steam cleaners "SC 1 Premium" and "SC 1 Classic" on March 23.


These products are steam cleaners equipped with a newly developed compact and lightweight full-scale boiler. The high-temperature steam and pressure of approximately 100 degrees Celsius lift and remove dirt without the use of detergent, and also sterilize 99.99% of bacteria that adhere to the floor. It can be used for a wide range of cleaning applications, from flooring, stairs, and entryways to kitchens, washrooms, and other water-related areas, as well as grease stains on gas stoves and exhaust fans.


Although it is a boiler type, the heat-up time after water supply is approximately 3 minutes, which is much shorter than conventional products. Steam can be locked at the touch of a button, and safety features such as an anti-burning sensor and safety valve have been considered.

The main unit measures W127 x H186 x L321 mm, weighs 1.5 kg, consumes 1,200 W, and can be used continuously for about 6.5 minutes.

The SC 1 Premium will be sold at electronics retailers, while the SC 1 Classic will be sold at home centers, Kärcher Centers, Kärcher Shops, and online stores. Both are priced at 19,980 yen (excluding tax).
