Have you ever been at a loss when opening a CD or DVD package because there is no opening in the transparent film? You might ask, "Why don't you use scissors or a cutter?", But if the package is a Digipak specification, there is a risk of scratching the paper jacket, so that's not the case, and there is nothing you can do about it. I feel that there are many such packages for CDs and DVDs imported from overseas.
"Nimble" is convenient in such a case. It's a tool that you can put on your finger to open the package.
To use it, just put it on your finger and rub the target area quickly. The wrapping film can be cut only with this. It is especially useful when opening the packaging for the following items.
・ Food packages including sausages and bacon ・ Home appliances and tools in open packages ・ Envelopes for direct mail ・ Parcels carefully packed with gum tape, etc.
The structure of "Nimble" is devised so that the package can be cut, but the human body cannot be cut. For this reason, even children of an age who cannot handle cutters and scissors can use "Nimble".
The unique shape was created as a result of devising ways to increase elasticity. This shape has made it possible to specify people with thin to thick fingers.
Developed by the UK-based design studio VERSION 22. The team is currently running a campaign to recruit investors on the crowdfunding site kickstarter for the commercialization of "Nimble". At the time of this writing, one "Nimble" is available with a $ 7 investment. Shipment is scheduled for around December 2016.
By the way, I would like the members of VERSION 22 to come to Japan once and pick up the "can be opened from anywhere on this side" pouch that is included in instant noodles. I want you to make a tool that you can easily open after you realize that the pouch is difficult to open. I think they can do it, but what about?
