"Kokeshiya" in Nishiogikubo, Tokyo. It is a long-established French restaurant and pastry shop that every local person knows.

The Kokeshiya holds the "Gourmet Morning Market" on the second Sunday of every month from 8:00 to 11:00. Everything is sold in the open space in front of the Kokeshiya Annex, such as bread and Western dishes. I thought that Sunday would start with "Uwasa no Tokyo Magazine", but I thought that I would have lost my life as it was, so I got up early.

I'll do it even in the rain

However, it was raining on this day. When I arrived at Nishi-Ogikubo station, the word "Morning Mac" crossed for a moment, but I remembered the word "Rainy weather decisive action" on the website. The place is about a 1-minute walk from the south exit.



It was sucking at 8 o'clock, but the event was a great success. It is a system that purchases each menu side by side, and among them, omelets and lamb charcoal-grilled, which are served freshly, are popular. If you ask, it will be put in a take-out pack, so it may be easy for neighbors to come even in the rain.



The 1st and 2nd floors of the annex are open as eat-in spaces, and on sunny days there will be tables in the open space. You can also buy beer and wine in the store!

Breakfast is delicious and happy

The famous omelet with plenty of eggs has a soft and mellow finish. It is served with a mild sauce with aroma of herbs.


Hayashi rice and sliced bread toast sandwich with a refreshing aftertaste while being slowly simmered. The wine goes well.



I ate too much with the taste and content suitable for the morning of the holiday, but it was impossible to conquer the whole menu with just one time. You can buy jams and pickles as souvenirs, and above all, it's a fun event that conveys the liveliness of the city. Let's get up early again ...!
