DeAgostini Japan will sell "Weekly Back to the Future Delorian" (130 issues in total), an assembly magazine with parts, from January 31st. The first issue is a special price of 499 yen, and the second and subsequent issues are 1,790 yen (both including tax). It can be purchased at bookstores nationwide (excluding some areas) and the company's website.
In the same series, you can create one 1/8 scale model of the time machine "Delorian" that appears in the movie "Back to the Future" by assembling the parts that come with each issue. The finished product has a total length of about 50 cm and uses die-cast alloy for the main part, so you can enjoy a solid and profound feeling.
By applying hairline processing to the body panel, a metal body that gives off a unique dull luster and a futuristic gull wing door are reproduced. The dashboard is also equipped with a number of lighting instruments such as a digital display speedometer that measures "88 mph" and a time circuit.
The size at the time of completion is a total length of 527 x width 232 x height 143 mm (245 mm when the door is open) and weighs about 8.4 kg. In addition, the magazine will explain in detail the secret story of movie production and shooting, and the process leading up to the creation of Delorean.
