"Taro panque" made with a mix of KALDI is delicious! The chewy and melty texture is fresh

I found a panque mix using "Taroimo" which is a little rare in KALDI. "Talo Panque Mix" from Hawaii. The purple package is a landmark.

Taloymo is often eaten in Hawaii, Polynesia and Southeast Asia. It is a member of taro and is characterized by its sticky texture and purple color.

The panque mix I found this time contains taro powder. The powder is also slightly purple. It contained 170g (6oz) and the price was 399 yen (tax included).

Slightly light purple

No need for eggs or milk, it's easy and nice to make it just by adding water. Mix with water in a bowl, let sit for 5-10 minutes, then pour into a frying pan. When both sides are browned, it's done.

Add water, mix and let sit for 5-10 minutes.

Bake in a frying pan

Complete! The image is for 1/2 bag

The most surprising thing is the texture! It's more chewy than any panque you know. And the lips are mellow. You can swallow it without chewing too much.

A moist feeling is transmitted from the cross section

If left as it is, there is almost no sweetness, and it feels slightly salty. It doesn't have a potato-like flavor or habit, but it's lighter than a wheat panque that doesn't use eggs or milk. It might look a bit like steamed bread.

Sweetness is maple syrup or honey

It has a chewy texture and is responsive to eating, and probably because it has a large amount of water, it makes you feel full. Thick fruits such as bananas and mangoes are recommended as toppings! Coconut jam looks good too. It's easy to make and you can feel different from usual, so please try it as a snack for summer vacation ♪

It goes well with mango and banana
