MUJI will hold an exhibition "Cultures to savor: '

Nihon

no sake'" at ATELIER MUJI GINZA in MUJI GINZA, which is operated by Ryohin Keikaku.

Outline of the Exhibition

MUJI offers daily necessities that are socially and environmentally conscious, learning from tradition, culture and nature, while adhering to the three perspectives of material selection, process inspection, and packaging simplification. This exhibition introduces the philosophy of Izumo Touji Tatsuya Kojima, a sake brewer, as an example of the kind of craftsmanship that MUJI shares.

Philosophy and Activities of T

atsuya Kojima Kojima returns to the simple question, "Why do people make sake?" and continues to brew "Nihonono Sake" while delving deeply into history and culture. We will attempt to introduce his activities and present an exhibit that touches on MUJI's philosophy of monozukuri.

Exhibition Content and Venue Information

Gallery 2 will showcase Kojima's philosophy of sake brewing with illustrations, texts, and brewed sake, while Gallery 1 will feature an installation by Aya Karashima that visualizes the relationship between sake and people, and a video interview with Kojima will be projected in the exhibition space. During the exhibition, Mr. Kojima is scheduled to give a talk event and to be present at the gallery.
