I often receive candle holders. I have never particularly said that candles are my hobby, so I think they probably look like I am going to do tarot reading while staring at them in my room.

I also got this stylish holder.

I can't actually do tarot, but it's a stylish item and I'd like to light it. But in my house, which is full of things that would make even a Roomba run away from home, I'm not worried that it might fall over and catch fire at any moment..!

Then I found the "LED Candle Light" sold at the 100 yen store Daiso. It contains two lights and comes with button batteries. It is too cheap, and I am wondering if it glows properly, and more importantly, if it can really be used as a substitute for candles.

Thank goodness it comes with batteries.

The diameter of the cylinder is 3.5 cm, and there is an ON/OFF button on the bottom. The estimated continuous use time is 36 to 40 hours. When I inserted the batteries and flicked the blue switch, the flame-shaped part lit up orange.

Well, all this is surreal, isn't it?

I immediately put it in the candle holder and...oh! The thing is so beautiful!

It looks like it has real candles in it!

I don't know if it's the original construction or the contact condition of the batteries, but the slightly irregular flickering is very atmospheric, just like the flickering of a flame. The body and container do not get hot, so it would be good for families with children or on summer nights. Incidentally, it is beautiful enough just to put it in a regular glass, so you don't have to go out of your way to buy a container to enjoy it.

The price is, of course, 108 yen.
