Kosen Oshita IV, who inherited the traditional Kaga maki-e technique, has created five types of maki-e designs: "Crane," "Maple Leaves," "Maiko," "Fuji," and "The Tale of Genji," all of which express maki-e in a unique way.
The "Maiko" and "The Tale of Genji" series, in particular, use a white barrel, which is rare for maki-e fountain pens, and the maki-e designs, which use more colors than before, stand out even more.
