"BOOK AND BED TOKYO Kyoto Store", an accommodation facility for foreign tourists and domestic travelers visiting Japan with the concept of "a bookstore where you can stay", will open in Gion, Kyoto on December 2nd. Reservations are accepted from November 25th.
BOOK AND BED TOKYO is a hostel where you can stay in a bed embedded in a bookshelf while reading your favorite books (books are not sold). Domestic tourists account for 30% of the customers at the Ikebukuro store in Tokyo, and many people use it as a "staying party" or as a third place.
At the Kyoto store, a bookshelf that can store up to 5,000 books is placed in the center of the building like an island. The bed is embedded in the bookshelf, and it seems to have a structure that makes you sleep in the bookshelf. "Soda design" is in charge of graphic design as in the first store, and "SUPPOSE DESIGN OFFICE" is in charge of interior design. Book Select was handled by "Kebunsha Ichijoji Store" in Kyoto.
The bar space inside the building offers several types of local beer, mainly from Kyoto. In addition, the store's original pajamas under the pajamas brand "NOWHAW" will be prepared, and the 8th day of each month (8th, 18th, 28th) will be rented for guests under the title of "Pajamas Day". (Limited quantity).
The facility is located on the 9th floor of the Kamogawa Building, 200 Nishiiri, Nakano-cho, Higashiyama-ku, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture. Reservations can be made from the official website. A daytime plan will be implemented in the future.
