Chandeliers, retro style... one lampshade can change the atmosphere of a room in unexpected ways. But if you want to buy a fashionable lampshade, it is quite expensive.

In such cases, handmade lampshades are the way to go! The how-to site "wikiHow" shows how to make a romantic lace lampshade.


First, inflate a rubber balloon to your desired size and tie it. Note that this size will be the size of the finished product.


Next, spray the balloons with wallpaper adhesive spray. Spray it evenly.


Next, wrap the lace around the balloon. Wrinkles are strictly prohibited. Gather the edges of the lace toward the knot on the balloon. When you are done, attach a string to the knot of the balloon and hang it to dry completely.


You may have noticed the trick by now... At this point, carefully split the balloon inside and remove it through the hole.


Now you have a beautiful lampshade. Note that if the lace keeps touching the lamp directly, there is a risk of fire, so it is best to use wire or something similar to adjust the lace.
