The day I get tired and buy a lunch box, or the morning after the year-end party I drank too much ... I want to drink warm miso soup, but it's a little troublesome to make it from scratch.
In such a case, it is convenient to prepare a "miso ball" that allows you to quickly make a cup of miso soup with the usual taste. Here are some tips that I actually tried.
Ingredients and how to make
Miso balls are miso, soup stock, and ingredients that are rolled into small pieces. It has a long history, and it has become a portable preserved food for samurai. Currently, it seems to be popular as an instant miso soup that you can enjoy the taste of home. The base ingredients are the miso and granules that I always use (not necessary for miso with dashi stock). If you have it, you can add dried bonito flakes.
We recommend fried tofu, dried wakame seaweed, dried vegetables, and leaves. Drain the oil and heat it in the microwave for about 1 minute to wipe off the water. Boil the leaves or heat them in the microwave to soften them and cut them into small pieces. The point is to chop everything as finely as possible so that it can be easily thawed!
Prepare about 1 tablespoon of miso per cup (about 150 ml of hot water) according to the amount of hot water, and mix well.
After that, roll one cup at a time with your favorite ingredients, wrap it in plastic wrap, and freeze it in the freezer to complete. If you can use it in a few days, you can use the refrigerator. The author used the silicon container "Misotama ga Pon" this time.
I drank it
When drinking, put it in a bowl and pour boiling water to dissolve it well.
Miso does not freeze in the freezer for home use, so when it is melted, it will reach the temperature at which it is ready to drink. The taste is certainly miso soup, and the texture of fried tofu is perfect. Please note that if you add too much raw ingredients, it will become slimy before it melts.
The best-by date when frozen is about 2 weeks. If you can afford it, you can enjoy the fragrant scent by sprinkling miso balls. Adjust the strength with the amount of hot water and miso, and finish it to your liking!
