It tastes nice in hot weather ♪ I made "Ice-watered green tea" with a beautiful cool yellow-green color.
"Ice watered green tea" is a tea that extracts green tea leaves with ice water instead of hot water. By extracting at a low temperature, the astringency of green tea can be suppressed, while the umami and sweetness can be enhanced.
It is common to make it using a kyusu, but this time I used the bottle "filter-in bottle" (HARIO) for "mizudashi tea". For the tea leaves, we chose "Oicha with Kyoto Uji Matcha" (ITO EN), which is a blend of matcha. Put tea leaves and ice water in a bottle and wait for a few minutes. A beautiful ice-watered green tea with a soft astringency and a refreshing feeling is completed!
"Ice watered green tea" saves you the trouble of boiling water and allows you to enjoy a different taste. I used tea leaves with matcha, but it seems that you can also use ordinary green tea leaves to make it delicious. In that case, it seems better to take several hours for extraction. How about using it for daily hydration as if you were making barley tea?
