Universal remote controller "Bearbot" operated by gestures

"Bearbot" is a universal remote controller operated by gestures. Many of the remote controls in the room can be replaced with this one.

With this cute bear (one?)!

To use it, you need to "taste" the bear using a dedicated smartphone app. On the app, specify the type of device to be remotely controlled and the remote control method. Then select the combination of gesture and operation. Finally, point the remote control at "Bearbot" and press the operation button, and "Bearbot" will remember the operation.

To tame the bear, select the device in the app (in the image, select the TV)

Then specify the remote control method (infrared is selected in the image)

Then select the combination of gesture and operation (in the image, select the gesture of waving in front of the bear)

If you point the remote control at "Bearbot" and press the operation button, "Bearbot" will learn the operation.

Once you learn how to operate it, you can control various devices without touching the "Bearbot" directly. For example, you can turn your finger around in front of "Bearbot" to turn the TV volume up or down. This is useful when you are working in the kitchen and your hands are wet.

You can raise or lower the volume of the TV

When you can't use your hands, you can control it with your feet.

You can also control it with your feet!

What about the dog's nose?

You can also use "Bearbot" to control operations that require multiple remote controls with a single action. For example, it is possible to put together a series of operations such as turning on the TV with the TV remote control, switching the input to the Blu-ray player, and turning on the Blu-ray player with one action of "waving in front of the Bearbot". ..

You can also combine multiple operations!

"Bearbot" is not only practical, but also cute. The bear's face displayed on a small 1.44 inch screen shows various facial expressions.

I'm hungry….

It was developed by Mu Design, which is based in Esch-sur-Alzet, Luxembourg. The company is currently running a campaign to recruit investors on the crowdfunding site Indiegogo. At the time of writing this article, one "Bearbot" is available with an investment of 99 euros (about 11,200 yen). Shipment is scheduled for August 2017.

Many people will find that 99 euros is expensive for a remote control. However, remote controls placed here and there can ruin the beauty of the room. For those who want a clean room with few things, "Bearbot" may be a good product.
