A classic souvenir from Hokkaido, "Marusei Butter Sandwich" from Rokkatei. It is a popular sweet that has many fans all over the country.

I introduced the other day that there is "Marusei butter cake " in this Marusei series, but ... There is also "Marusei caramel", and I found out that it is so delicious.

Caramel mixed with crushed Marusei biscuits, Tokachi soybeans and almonds. A bite size of 3 pieces x 6 bags (18 tablets) is 530 yen including tax. You can also purchase from the online shop.



Simply put, "caramel with ingredients". It looks sober and not so new ... I was completely disappointed, but when I actually eat it, it's super delicious.


First of all, the slightly unusual combination of soybeans and caramel is excellent! The fragrances of both are matched, but each stands and the flavor is very plump. The soybeans are contained as grains (probably roasted soybeans), but they are not as hard as nuts, so they are crispy and comfortable to chew. The crispy biscuits that harden the sides and the small crushed almonds have a nice texture.


The caramel itself is not too sweet and the deliciousness of the milk is utilized and the quality is high. It is also good that it melts smoothly and does not stick to your teeth.


Although it was released in 2012, Marusei caramel seems to have not been eaten by many people compared to butter sand. As a souvenir from Hokkaido, of course, if you see it at an event, please try it!
